all the blocks and cars and toy trains,
all the teddy bears conclude the day's affairs
and they close their eyes as well.

all our homemade paper airplanes
will be touching down on the carpeted ground
and they'll rest there for a spell.

it may be all ice cream and somersaults
it may be temper tantrums, tears and teething pain
