This is the sixtieth of my proposed 262 song-a-weeks, and the first from a draft of a piece of musical theatre (in this case, BEAUTIFUL POISON, co-written with Duane Poole and Valerie Vigoda). Help me keep doing this! Throw me a buck a song at my Patreon: www.patreon.com/BrendanMilburn

Because of when this was written, it's technically Milburn-Vigoda song, but this is one of those cases where I wrote pretty much all of it - Val was in another room, wrestling with another lyric for the show while I came up with this one mostly alone, looking at a map of New Orleans and trying to make a connection to our main character's story.
